For the first time ever, as best as I can remember, I have done a rough outline for a novel idea! I even had to research some thing! As a consumate pantser, this activity has rocked me to the core. It means I’m not only going into NaNo next month with a BRAND NEW idea ( for the past two or three NaNo’s I’ve been a rebel and have worked intermittently to finish two other books), but I’m also going in with (clutch the pearls), a PLAN.
What is the world coming to?
Are you doing NaNo this year? Check out this post for more information on how you can make this year’s NaNo your best one to date :-).
Sending peace, light, and some major NaNo writing mojo!

I’m doing the opposite – usually I have a plan ready to use for the process of writing the NaNoWriMo – but this year, no plan. What I have is a title (maybe) and a blurb (both of which may change by the end. this is a first for me, a chronic planner. I can’t wait to see what happens. I’m assuming that having planning so much previously that I might be able to get away with having the basic structure laid out in my head … Fingers crossed.
Funny that you flipped and I flopped – I’m usually sans anything but a desire to write, lol, so this time is definitely a surprise. Obviously this novel can’t wait to be written.
The only times I have finished NaNo are when I have an outline. One of my friends from high school is encouraging me to do it again. I’m not sure I’ll be able to withstand all the peer pressure on this one!
No pressure, just friendly nudges to get you to put your brilliance on paper ;-).
🙂
Yay!!! Your enthusiasm is contagious! good luck with your writing. 🙂
Awww, thanks. I haven’t had this clear an idea for a novel since I drafted Breaking Point. That one came to me much this same way, almost fully formed and chomping at the bit. Fingers crossed I’m able to do the lead character and her story justice.
